Ordinances/Resolutions
Tornado Sirens
The locations are: Moorefield Road, Villa Road, Route 4 (Mechanicsburg Road), Baldwin Lane, Morris Road and Yeazell Road.
Clark County has instituted the WARN Emergency Notification System - an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the County in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts. Examples include: evacuation notices, chemical spills, bio-terrorism alerts, boil alert notices, and missing child reports. Simply click on the Hyper-reach logo below to submit your contact information to the notification database.
The Moorefield Township Trustees are excited to announce that all six of the Moorefield Township tornado sirens are fully installed and are up and running. Please be aware we will run a monthly test on each siren during the months of April - October. This test will always take place on the first Monday of each month, will last approximately 40 seconds and will happen at 12:00 noon. Contact our office if you have any questions regarding the tornado sirens.
Nuisance Ordinance
In July 2009, the Moorefield Township Trustees passed a resolution addressing nuisance properties involving excessive vegetation, garbage, refuse, and other debris. Moorefield Township's policy for uncut grass (excluding weeds) considers grass that is 12 inches or more in height to be in violation. Once a complaint is received, the property will be inspected to determine whether a violation exists. Please note that the nuisance abatement process involves several required steps for Moorefield Township, as outlined in the resolution below.
Golf Carts
In April 2018, the Moorefield Township Trustees passed a resolution to allow the operation of under-speed vehicles (golf carts) upon the public streets within Moorefield Township that have 25 mph speed limits. The deputies who patrol Moorefield Township must inspect to make sure it meets all of the requirements of the Ohio Revised Code and Moorefield Township. These rules and regulations are shown below:
Tree Resolution
The Road and Bridge Department is seeing an increasing amount of problems related to trees in the township road right-of-ways. Many of the existing, maturing trees that are planted in the township road right-of-ways have branches/roots interfering that cause many problems to the streets, sidewalks, pipes and to service vehicles. Therefore, on August 14, 2018, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution banning the planting of any tree in any right-of-way adjacent to, or associated with, a township road. This resolution also allows for the Township remove or trim a tree that is growing in or encroaching onto the right-of-way of the township roads if the Board sees it necessary (a good faith effort to contact the property owner will be made first). Please click the link above to view and/or print the entire resolution.
The above parking ordinance is enforced throughout Moorefield Township.
